This category is for fictional characters who are assassins or have committed at least one assassination of a targeted individual (usually a prominent person or public figure), killing them through a stealthy and/or surprise attack. Assassins may be motivated to murder their victim(s) for the sake of executing an ideological or sociopolitical goal, receiving monetary payment from a client who hired them, or fulfilling some sort of personal vendetta.
