"his family is jewish"

[edit]

Lieberman was openly Jewish- wouldn't it be more clear to say that outright? 108.51.31.254 (talk) 20:12, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think, if I understand you correctly, that you think there may be some ambiguity with just saying "his family is Jewish" because it doesn't explicitly specify that he himself adopted the family religion. Fair point, I am not sure how to word it appropriately for the Early life section though. I will note that the lead of the article states "becoming the first Jewish candidate", so by the time the reader gets to the Early life section they should have little doubt about his religion. Published Works

[edit]

You need to add his final book " Faith's Answers to American Political Crisis" to your list of his published works - a book incidentally that should be required reading for all newly elected Senators and Members of Congress. 2600:1700:E730:65A0:5C32:6239:2D72:ACA0 (talk) 13:33, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Barry Goldwater vs Joe Lieberman

[edit]

Afaiu

1. Barry is 1st of Jewish descent/1st ethnic Jew & 1st Jewish Christian.

2. Joe is 1st Jew, 1st observant Jew / Jew by religion, 1st Jewish non-Christian, 2nd of Jewish descent/2nd ethnic Jew candidate on a U.S. major party presidential ticket.

So why not say Joe is 1st Jew indeed but also 2nd of Jewish descent after Barry? Or you pick the terms but at least somehow mention Barry. 218.253.54.29 (talk) 04:39, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
